Tips for moving to Russia
Once you are in Russian territory, you must register with the Federal Migration Service of your place of residence within 3 days of your arrival in Russia.
No vaccinations are required on Russian territory, however, it is necessary to be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus and polio. Depending on the type of stay, you must also be vaccinated against typhoid fever, hepatitis B and rabies as a preventive measure.
Important: For children, it is important that all vaccinations in the Spanish vaccination schedule are up to date.
For an international move to Russia with your pets, the latter must present an international passport in their name issued by the official Spanish veterinary body. In addition, they must be vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days before the date of departure or at least 1 year ago.
Please note that your animals’ international documents will be replaced by official Russian documents. If you wish to drive in Russia, the Spanish license is not valid. You will need to complete the formalities to obtain an international driving licence. The latter will only be valid for 1 year in Russia. After this period, you will need to contact the General Traffic Inspectorate, GIBDD, which will exchange the international licence for a Russian driving licence.
